Matisse 5

Several years ago I was in Philadelphia and Andrew gave me a personal tour of the Barnes Museum before it opened. It was such a privilege to hear about its collection and history from such an informed director.

The only thing more humbling than standing in the hall before the Matisse mural was seeing my work for sale in the museum.

Spiral Dancer

I created another series of dancers that originated with this single figure created in honor of Henri Matisse. I was so excited when Andrew Stewart of the Barnes Foundation discovered them and to this day is one of the Museums that supports my work.
